What is WNL?
WNL stands for Wednesday Night LIVE, the mid-week program at Forest Presbyterian Church. It is a time for intergenerational fun, fellowship, music, and spiritual renewal “between Sundays.
Winter 2008 Session
February 6- March 12
(Note: Feb 6 is Ash Wednesday. On that night only, dinner will be served FIRST at 6:00 followed by the Ash Wednesday worship service at 6:30. The Ash Wednesday service will conclude with the imposition of ashes and leaving in silence.)
Evensong
6:00 PM
Evensong is the mid-week worship service. During the Winter 2008 Session, WNL worship will be based on the Taize Prayer Service model. Taize is a quiet, contemplative form of worship that includes scripture, simple chants, silence, prayer, and candlelighting. This form of worship will offer a meaningful way for us to reflect on the season of Lent.
Child care will be available for preschoolers during worship.
Dinner
6:30 - 7:15 PM
Dinnertime is a highlight of WNL as the community of faith comes together for food, fun and fellowship! Meals cost only $3 per person each week (maximum of $10 per family). Payment can be made weekly, or the full cost for the 6 week session can be paid in advance. Participants are asked to confirm attendance at dinner each week via phone, e-mail, sign up sheet, or online form.
After Dinner
7:15 - 8:30 PM
Adult Choir will begin at 7:15 during WNL. Adults not in the choir are encouraged to stay for coffee, conversation and fellowship. Children and youth are welcome to enjoy cards or boardgames, or find a quiet place to do homework. There is also a Women's Evening Christ Care group that meets after dinner.
Registration
Registration for WNL takes place on Sunday morning in the Commons on Jan. 27 and
Feb 3. Everyone is asked to sign up for one night during the session to help clean up after dinner.
